5/24/08 Digging the Basement

4/10/08 Our first trip this year to Montana and my first trip to the river.  We were able to finalize the house plans and schedules, and I got in a couple of good days fishing.  These are all caught mid-day.

Most of the time I had the river all to myself, quiet and peaceful.  But if you think it's pretty during the day take a look at the sunset picture on the right.

5/10/08 The road to our property in Montana is in, in the background you can see the drilling rig for the well.  We had expected to have to wait a while longer to get things started, but the well driller had an opening and here we are.  The well here on our hill is at 220 feet.

5/24/08  Well, they got this far on the foundation before the rains started coming. It has been dry in Central Montana, so I suppose the rain is more important than the speed of our construction.

Things are moving quickly now.

6/14/08  Nice Rainbow caught on the Ausable River in New York, and a nice 19" Brown caught fishing from a float tube, also in the Adirondacks. It was an awesome trip, a beautiful part of the country.  If you ever want good fly fishing in the area check out www.fishwithafly.com Al Hammel.  A great guide.

6/20/08  The foundation is down and the floor is about to be poured, but all the rain has slowed construction.  We'll be back in Montana in July, and we'd hoped to see some framing but we'll probably only see the basement walls poured.  We're not in a big rush, so I guess OK.

6/21/08  The Tiffin Art Fair in Tiffin Ohio, we were a little afraid that it would be a small show and not very productive, but we had a great show, sold lots of paintings, and had a great time.  Got closed down and out just before the big rains came, but we had a good time and hope to be back next year.

7/17/08  The foundation is now complete on our new house.  We thought it was pretty impressive, and we are pretty sure the views are going to be spectacular.  By the time we visit again in October the framing should be done and it should be all closed in.
